After the Champions League saw the entry of English teams in the final and the assurity that the Trophy will only come to England. The Europa League will also see two English teams entering the League. The Hat-Trick Hero Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang crashed Valencia’s hopes of another dramatic European comeback on Thursday. The Gunners will now play Chelsea in the Europa League Final.
The start of the game went in the favor of Valencia. It was Kevin Gameiro who scored the first goal. Alexandre Lacazette and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang however, turned the tide in favor of the home side. This put them to a situation where they needed four goals in 40 minutes.
Therefore, Arsenal thumped Valencia 7-3 on aggregate to set up an all-English final with London rivals. Gameiro scored again. This had sparked hopes of a revival. The efforts of Liverpool and Tottenham had been fruitful in the past. This was enough for Arsenal to strike again. Aubameyang then foiled all their hopes by scoring the second and then completed his hat-trick. Arsenal then sealed their 4-2 win, 7-3 on aggregate.
There will now be a London derby in the finals on May 29. 0n June 1, Liverpool and Spurs will meet in Madrid. This is for the first time in history that four English teams competing in both the Champions Leauge and Europa Leauge final.
This also keeps their chance of securing a place in the Champions League next season. They were needed to overturn three points and the eight-goal swing on Tottenham in the English League this weekend.
Arsenal Coach Unai Emery said “We couldn’t get the Champions League through the league, but this is another way, our objective is clearly to go to the Champions League but also this is a trophy. It will not be easy.”
